Job summary

Eisner Health in Maywood, CA seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to provide high-quality back-office support in a family practice setting. You will assist clinicians, document in the EHR, and help ensure patient-centered care across the lifespan.

The ideal candidate has MA training, is fluent in English/Spanish preferred, and holds CPR certification. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented role with strong emphasis on safety, patient education, and immunizations.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to hire.
  • At least one year of outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Experience in family practice, primary care, community health, or a similar outpatient setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication information, and other pertinent clinical data.
  • Accurately document patient information, clinical observations, services, and required documentation in the EHR; review charts for completeness and ensure results and consult notes are available for provider review.
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and management of acute and chronic conditions in accordance with established clinical protocols and standing orders.
  • Administer medications, injections, and routine immunizations according to provider orders, standing orders, organizational policies, current CDC recommendations, and applicable California requirements.
  • Perform medication reconciliation, identify discrepancies or concerns, and communicate findings to the provider.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, immunizations, disease management, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
  • Perform routine clinical screenings and preventive assessments, including blood pressure, pulse oximetry, BMI, vision screening, and other age-appropriate screenings.
  • Coordinate patient care through referrals, appointment scheduling, orders, laboratory services, and follow-up activities.
  • Collect, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with proper handling and transport procedures.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications, immunizations, and treatments and promptly report concerns to the provider.

Position Summary & Duties

Eisner Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in Maywood. In this role, you will provide high-quality back-office support to family practice providers while helping deliver exceptional, patient-centered care across the lifespan. What You'll Do

  • Support preventive health and wellness initiatives, including immunization review and patient education.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and emergency preparedness materials in accordance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Support efficient patient flow and front- and back-office operations, including discharge, phone calls, scheduling, and referrals.
  • Participate in quality improvement, productivity, compliance, and documentation initiatives and maintain compliance with HIPAA and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, assist with staff training and onboarding, and demonstrate flexibility in supporting clinical functions and departmental needs.
  • Provide compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced community health setting.

  • Experience with triage support, messaging, and managing provider inbox tasks
