Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD, seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant for our Center for Interventional Pain Management. You will greet patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and support pre-operative procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients with a warm, professional demeanor
• Answer and manage incoming phone calls and patient messages efficiently
• Handle patient registration and verify insurance information
• Collect co-pays and process payments accurately
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments and procedures
• Procedure scheduling—ensuring all pre-operative requirements are communicated, tracked and aligned for interventional pain procedures
• Monitor and manage provider schedules to ensure smooth clinic operations
• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Assist patients with FMLA and disability paperwork
• Maintain a clean, organized front office space
• Provide exceptional service and support to patients and visitors
• Other duties as assigned

• Assist patients with FMLA and disability paperwork
• Maintain a clean, organized front office space
• Provide exceptional service and support to patients and visitors
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one year experience, preferrably in a medical office setting.

Min USD $18.66/Hr.

Max USD $30.79/Hr.
