GLFHC is currently seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, recording medical histories, confirming the purpose of visits, and assisting clinicians with patient care. The role involves preparing patients for visits by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting relevant information in medical records.

• Must be able to don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Performs ear irrigations.
• Performs throat cultures.
• Collects urinalysis samples.
• Conducts flu testing.
• Conducts glucose testing.
• Performs international normalized ratio (INR) testing.
• Ensures that results of all tests and procedures are documented in medical records.
• Determines equipment needs for visits and sets up exam rooms accordingly.
• Assists clinicians with treatments and dressings.
• If certified, translates for providers as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; must be fluent in both spoken and written English. Completion of a medical interpreter course is strongly recommended.
• Certified in CPR.
• Graduate of a medical assistant program.
