Job summary

Premise Health in Knoxville, TN hires a Full Time Medical Assistant to provide care for client employees and dependents in our Health Center. Workdays are Monday–Friday, 7AM–4PM with a consistent weekday schedule and no weekends.

You will take vital signs, maintain records, prepare rooms, assist with procedures, and handle front-desk tasks. Competitive benefits support work-life balance and career growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold national Medical Assisting certification or accredited MA program with hands-on externship.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required (AHA/ARC).
• CMA certification from recognized bodies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Maintains patient health records with accurate, up-to-date data.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Administers medications, runs labs, performs EKGs and basic testing as allowed.
• Performs front-desk tasks, schedules appointments, and orders supplies.

As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Knoxville, TN. The scheduled hours are Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends while working in a fast-paced clinic where you’ll stay engaged and make an impact each day.

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)


• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records


• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments


• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations


• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies


• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted


• Current certification with hands on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required


• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)


• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
