Job summary

Medi-Weightloss is seeking a patient-focused medical assistant to support clinicians in a fast-paced weight loss program setting. You’ll conduct essential clinical tasks, prepare labs, assist with injections, and maintain EMR documentation while ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for clients.

Primary duties include patient intake and assessments, lab processing, and coordination with the medical team to promote program success. Strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide a friendly, high-standard service with strong product and program knowledge.
• Conduct urinalysis, EKG, phlebotomy, and body composition assessments; communicate results to the provider.
• Obtain patient vitals and take before/after photos.
• Administer IM injections.
• Prepare laboratory order forms.
• Assist medical director or mid-level practitioner with referrals and coordination with other healthcare professionals.
• Manage medical supply inventory and daily restocking.
• Document procedures, progress notes, and patient data in the EMR.
• Place patient calls for appointment reminders, care calls, and follow-up concerns.
• Route incoming calls via the phone system.
• Conduct consultations and initial assessments for the Medi-Weightloss programs.
• Assist with the cleanliness and organization of the medical environment.

Reports to: Mid Level Provider, Medical Director, Franchisee

Essential Job Functions & Clinical Duties

• Ensures that each patient receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every patient, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product & program knowledge and all other aspects of customer service
• Conducts urinalysis, EKG, phlebotomy, and body composition & communicates the results to provider
• Obtains patient’s vitals, before and after photos
• Administers IM Injections
• Prepares laboratory order forms
• Assists medical director or mid-level practitioner with patient referrals or other healthcare professionals
• Assists medical director/practitioner with medical supply inventory procedures & responsible for daily restock
• Documents procedures conducted, patient progress notes and any other patient specific data in the patient chart/EMR
• Conducts patient calls to include: appointment reminders, care calls and progress/patient concerns
• Utilizes phone system to answer and appropriately route all incoming calls
• Conducts consultations and Initial Assessments with patients regarding the Medi-Weightloss™ program(s)
• Assists with cleanliness of medical environment

Non-essential Job Functions

• Participates in location marketing efforts to promote the program and provides ongoing support to promote location success
• Assists with all administrative duties, included but not limited to, answering the telephones, scheduling patients, and updating/uploading patient medical records
• Maintains up to date, high level of program education in order to promote and explain benefits of program and products to current and prospective patients
• Participates in refresher training as requested by management. Refresher training may be by means of Regional Trainings, Onsite Support by Corporate Office, Boot camps, and eLearning.
• Promptly refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests for information and other inquiries or complaints to the office manager or as instructed.
• Adheres to all operational guidelines including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, and location specific requirements.
