Job summary

Spero Health, INC. in Columbia, TN seeks a Medical Assistant to join our team and support integrated care across locations. Travel to Dickson, TN and/or Lawrenceburg, TN up to two days per week is required.

You will schedule appointments, check patients in/out, run vitals, assist with evaluations, order labs and meds as directed, document in the EHR, and support billing with patient payments. High school diploma required; MA program preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer in-coming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorization to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Skills

*** This role is expected to travel to our Dickson, TN and/or Lawrenceburg, TN location up to two days per week ***

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
• Experience with injections preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
