Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support dermatology clinicians in a fast-paced setting. The role involves rooming patients, scribing for the dermatologist, wound care, venipuncture, and assisting with dermatology procedures.

Applicants should have CMA/LPN/RN credentials with 1+ years in a medical office, and be proficient in EMR and MS Office. Travel to other clinics may be required; compensation includes health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Derm Tech a plus.
• Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, Mohs-related tasks.

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team

For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training
