Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians during patient visits in a fast-paced dermatology clinic. The Medical Assistant helps room patients, documents vital signs, and assists with procedures to promote a friendly and efficient environment.

You will handle scribing, wound care, specimen collection, and EMR documentation while coordinating schedules and maintaining clinic preparedness.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Post High School education in a medical support field: CMA, LPN or RN strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office (preferred).
  • Must keep current state certifications, licenses and registrations to continue employment.
  • Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Must possess organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Rooming patients and documents all vital information
  • Scribing information for the dermatologist
  • Providing post op wound care to patients
  • Drawing blood and suture removal
  • Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
  • Scheduling patient appointments
Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:
  • Surgical photographs
  • Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
  • Excisions
  • Electrodessication and curettage
  • I&D
  • Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
  • Phototherapy
  • Injections
  • Koh preps
  • Trichograms
  • Tzank preps
  • Dermabrasion
  • Patch testing
  • Blue light
Qualifications
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
  • Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
  • Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Must possess organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
