Job summary

Urology Specialists of the Carolinas is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant to join our expanding clinical team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and dedicated to patient care, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities include scheduling, taking histories, vitals, preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting during exams, administering medications, and performing basic lab tests and phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Prior experience in a medical office or specialty practice, preferably urology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical duties in a medical setting, such as scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, and recording vital signs.
• Assist healthcare providers during medical exams, including preparing exam rooms, sterilizing medical instruments, and explaining procedures to patients.
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers.
• Conducts basic laboratory tests and performs phlebotomy procedures, including collecting and preparing specimens for testing.
• Performs basic medical procedures, such as dressing changes, wound care, and suture removals.
• Manages and maintains medical records, including patient charts, test results, and other important medical information.
• Assists with patient education and provides information on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care measures.
• Answers, triages and responds timely to calls and messages.
