Job summary

Cara Mia Dermatology is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. You will work directly with patients in a fast-paced clinical setting, supporting providers and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories, recording vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, preparing rooms, educating patients on treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and patient-facing experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy helpful.
• Ability to navigate electronic medical records.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting providers and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities include:

• Rooming patients and preparing them for examination and treatment
• Obtaining and documenting patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
• Recording vital signs and updating electronic medical records
• Assisting providers with dermatologic examinations, procedures, biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic treatments
• Preparing exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies
• Educating patients on treatment plans, medications, skincare recommendations, and follow-up care
• Processing specimens and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations
• Providing outstanding customer service to patients and visitors
• Supporting clinic operations and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required
• Prior medical assistant, healthcare, or clinical experience preferred
• Dermatology experience preferred but not required
• Medical Assistant certification, diploma, or completion of a medical vocational program preferred
• Ability to learn and understand medical terminology, anatomy, and vital signs
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
