Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in a leading Cincinnati-area healthcare network. You will assist with examinations, manage patient flow, document medical history, and maintain EMR records.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program graduate or relevant experience, High School diploma, and BLS certification, with strong communication, computer, and clinical skills. On-site positions with opportunities to grow within a respected team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired meds, and order supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully stocked exam rooms.
• Assist with training new employees or coordinating work queues as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other routine diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
