Job summary

Quality Talent Group is recruiting for a Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare network in the Cincinnati region. You will assist with patient exams under physician supervision and help manage patient flow and documentation.

You will record information in EMR, obtain test results, process refills, and help coordinate care with patients, pharmacies, and insurance providers while maintaining room readiness and high standards of confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or relevant experience.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vitals, medical history and meds.
• Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and outside records as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Maintain patient samples and medications; order supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Answer calls, MyChart messages, schedule appointments and check in/out.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
