Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for a leading Cincinnati-region healthcare network. The role supports physicians, maintains patient flow, documents medical histories, and processes referrals and tests. Strong EMR and clinical skills are essential for this onsite position.

The successful candidate will have a Medical Assistant credential or equivalent experience, a high school diploma, and BLS certification, with a commitment to patient confidentiality and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant program graduate or previous Medical Assisting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vitals, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results and hospital reports as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Maintain patient samples, medications, and order medical supplies.
• Prepare and maintain clean examination rooms.
• Obtain medical information to support decision-making per office protocols.
• Answer calls, MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and workflow logs.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
