The Medical Assistant is responsible for enhancing the performance of the clinical care team by supporting and facilitating clinical services with their assigned providers. The Medical Assistant is required to work in the field with the assigned provider as directed by the Lead Medical Assistant or MA Manager/Supervisor. You may be asked to travel up to 60 miles from your home. This position typically operates on a Monday-Friday dayshift schedule.

* Mileage reimbursement plan is offered.

  • Ensure each patient is seen as medically necessary per clinical protocol.
  • Serve as a “buffer” between provider and families/staff to facilitate proper patient management.
  • Document appropriate encounters and time for CCM and BHI services.
  • If scheduling is assigned: Update scheduling rosters daily for accuracy and send schedules in a timely manner.
  • Assist with day-of changes to scheduled visits due to acute needs, hospitalizations, admissions, or discharges.
  • Prepare clinical documentation for assigned providers each day.
  • Complete basic opening of encounter notes as per discipline protocol.
  • Perform medication reconciliation on all scheduled patients at each encounter.
  • Enter appropriate facility chart data for all scheduled patients into patient encounter notes and assign to provider.
  • Enter lab and diagnostic study results into patient encounters and assign to providers as per guidelines.
  • Assist with collection and sorting of all clinical paperwork needed for clinician review, ensuring completion each day.
  • Host telehealth sessions for providers as assigned by manager/supervisor, including routine and acute visits.
Facility Support
  • When scheduling is part of your role: Share patient schedules with key facility staff as needed.
  • Assist with triage needs as directed by the assigned provider, whether in or out of the building.
  • Assist with triage documentation as needed.
  • Ensure all needed paperwork is routed for the facility to Eventus providers, office, or families.
  • Assist with obtaining consents for services needed.
  • Attend stand-up meetings to report facility needs to Eventus providers and vice versa, if permitted.
  • Assist with discharge planning of clinical services as needed.
  • Ensure check-in and check-out each day with facility staff regarding patients seen and their status.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Document appropriate encounters and time for CCM and BHI services.
  • Check communication channels multiple times daily to meet patient needs.
  • Inform patients and families of recent visits, new orders, and defer to providers when needed.
  • Communicate transitions of care to the CCM team to enhance patient care and education.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Eventus WholeHealth standards, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow the dress code policy: clean, wrinkle-free, matching scrubs with closed-toed footwear, and wearing a name badge.
  • Report to your Lead Medical Assistant for any additional assignments if duties are completed ahead of schedule.
  • Seek further training if uncertain about how to proceed with any task.
