• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Job description

As a Medical Assistant, you will support the needs of patients and ensure efficient workflow in the office, providing assistance to physicians in all aspects of medical procedures—before, during, and after. You will also strive to deliver an excellent service experience for patients.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, at our Fairfield clinic.

Responsibilities

1. Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms, and assist with form completion as needed.
2. Familiarize yourself with clinic computer hardware and software, using them according to company policies.
3. Schedule appointments and accommodate patient needs such as transportation and rescheduling.
4. Verify insurance eligibility by contacting insurance companies.
5. Perform clerical tasks including copying, filing, and faxing.
6. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of procedure rooms.
7. Assist doctors during Endovenous Laser Therapy procedures, following individual doctor preferences.
8. Prepare patients for procedures and clean up afterward.
9. Ensure patients receive post-procedure instructions and medication information if needed.
10. Prepare IV solutions.
11. Apply sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA regulations.
12. Train new staff and assist ultrasound staff as required.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
3. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred).
4. Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
5. Fluency in Spanish (preferred).
