Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is seeking a Medical Assistant in Englewood, CO. This full-time role directs clinic workflow, screens questions, rooms patients, and communicates with providers. You will document vitals, coordinate orders, and support radiologists during procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Direct workflow for RIA Endovascular Clinic.
  • Prepare patients for RN/NP/Physician by bringing to room and recording vitals.

  • Coordinate with referring offices to obtain orders and discuss exams.
  • Prepare and organize paperwork and previous exams for Radiologist.
  • Enter patient information into Electronic Medical Record.
  • Support for procedures: prepare room, position patient, prep area.
  • Assist Radiologist with procedures and discharge education.
  • Schedule same-day add-on patients and collect necessary info on short notice.
  • Maintain exam and procedure rooms and stock supplies.
  • Collaborate with staff, radiologists, and patients to resolve issues.
  • Provide back-up coverage for front desk tasks.
  • Demonstrate professional patient interactions and teamwork.

Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is comprised of over 110 exceptionally skilled and experienced radiologists who provide professional radiology interpretation services to hospitals, surgery centers and private physician practices across Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Hawaii; they also provide those services to our joint-ventured outpatient imaging system, Invision Sally Jobe, which consists of ten imaging centers in the Denver metro area.

Almost all of our radiologists are fellowship-trained in their field of specialty, some are double-fellowship trained, and many hold Certificates of Additional Qualifications. Our radiologists have studied and trained at some of the most prestigious educational and healthcare institutions in the nation, and our interventional radiologists perform some of the most cutting-edge treatments available today. Their dedication to patient care, which is at the core of everything we do, is second to none!

Summary of Position:

The Medical Assistant (MA) Responsibilities will include directing workflow, triaging questions/concerns, rooming patients and communicating with providers, and assisting with other duties as outlined below. As part of the RIA Endovascular team you represent this practice all comments, attitudes, actions and behaviors have a direct effect on the facilities image and perception of quality service. Interaction with patients, physicians, referral sources, co-worker must be in manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct workflow for RIA Endovascular Clinic
  • Prepares patients to be seen by RN, NP or Physician by bringing patient to clinic room or procedure rooms taking photos, height and weight and recording initial concerns.
  • Responsible for documenting vital signs to include blood pressures, pulse ox, heart rate, and temperature.
  • Contact referring physician offices to obtain orders, discuss exams, and coordinate care.
  • Prepares and organizes all paperwork and previous exams/reports for the Radiologist prior to patient’s appointment.
  • Documents patient’s medical information, including medical history and other pertinent information into patients Electronic Medical Record.
  • Efficiently and effectively provides procedural support for a variety of patient procedures:
    • Procedure room is prepared with appropriate tray, supplies and support equipment
    • Patient is positioned properly for procedure
    • Carefully preps procedure area
  • Assist Radiologist with procedures
  • Provide discharge education to patients post procedure and ensure that the patient understand instructions.
  • Coordinate proper and complete scheduling of same-day add-on patients, including obtaining all necessary information on short notice.
  • Prepares rooms by assisting in room turnover, sterile tray set up and break down and maintain required supplies in exam and procedure rooms on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with staff/radiologists, referring physician offices, and patients in order to identify and correct patient-related issues.
  • Provide back-up coverage for front desk, including scheduling, answering phones, and greeting patients.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with patients, significant others and co-workers.
  • Create and modify forms as needed.
  • Complete other duties, as assigned.

Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to effectively communicate with internal staff/radiologists, referring physician offices, and patients
  • Medical terminology and scheduling experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Computer skills and knowledge
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be dependable, flexible and reliable

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MA certificate preferred

Compensation is between $21 to $26.00 per hour depending on qualifications

In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Radiology Imaging Associate’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position will accept applications on an ongoing basis and will remain open until filled.

Full-time employees will become eligible for benefits on the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time employees may have access to some of these benefits, which may be on a pro-rated basis. PRN employees are not eligible for benefits.
