Qualifications

  • Completion of a medical assistant training program or have at least 2 years of work experience in related profession.
  • A Medical Assistant (CCMA or CMA) certification is desired but not required.
  • BLS certification (Required)
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and at times stressful environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic office software (EHR, MS Office, etc.)
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for the provider by verifying medical information, updating medical history and measuring vital signs.
  • Prepares and organizes all paperwork and pervious exams/reports/labs for radiologist prior to patient’s appointment
  • Follows up on orders, appointments, referrals, and follow up visits.
  • Assist physician by helping with procedures which may include assisting nursing in pre/postop, assisting the technologist in the procedural area with setup and room turnover.
  • Assist physicians during angiographic and interventional procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile trays and other equipment, practicing sterile technique, and passing instruments and supplies to the radiologist.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow throughout the clinic experience.
  • Instructs, escorts, and prepares patients for clinic consults, wound checks, and minor invasive procedures.
  • Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing
  • Helps check in, check out patients, assist with triaging phone calls.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care
  • May assist front office staff, when necessary, assist in opening clinic in the morning prior to patients being seen.

This position will be Monday through Thursday
