Job summary

Humana in DeLand, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical tasks, document patient symptoms in EMR, take vital signs, administer injections, and assist with tests in a patient-facing role.

This role requires phlebotomy and vaccine administration experience, CPR certification, and TB screening participation; MA training or CMA/RMA certification is preferred, with over 1 year of MA experience. Work hours are Mon–Fri 8:00–5:00.

Qualifications

• Over 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Completion of MA school/training program or CMA/RMA certification or 5+ years of MA experience with provider approval.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• CPR Certified.
• Role is patient-facing and part of TB screening program; TB screening required if selected.

Job Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as:

Required:

• Over 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant


• Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider


• Phlebotomy experience


• Medication/vaccine administration experience


• CPR Certified


• This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Preferred:

• Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)


• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
