Job summary

Evolve Orthopedic Partners in Schenectady, NY is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians and ensure high-quality patient care.

You will handle both administrative and clinical tasks, from patient registration and rooming to charting, scribing, and discharge instructions, under supervision.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with emphasis on confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification or degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong data entry skills.
• CPR/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally.
• Assisting patients with the registration process and information collection.
• Preparing the patient for the exam with preliminary tests as needed.
• Reporting relevant information to the provider.
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested.
• Performing scribe duties, as needed.
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients.

• Reviewing discharge instructions.
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable.

We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Schenectady team! You will play a key role in supporting our physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

General Description

This Medical Assistant position provides both administrative and clinical support in patient registration, rooming, demographic and medical data collection as well as patient checkout including appointments, discharge information and payment under the supervision of a provider.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally;
• Assisting patients with the registration process including but not limited to assistance with collecting required patient information, medical history, relevant documents, and electronic signatures;
• Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed;
• Reporting relevant information to the provider;
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested;
• Performing scribe duties, as needed;
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients;
• Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results;
• Reviewing discharge instructions;
• Bracing & brace measurements under the supervision of a licensed professional;
• Collecting any patient payments and scheduling follow up appointments, if required;
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable;
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and complies with HIPAA standards;
• Other responsibilities as needed
