Job summary

Community Care Physicians is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Family Practice Guilderland office. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. Responsibilities include documenting conversations, maintaining patient flow, prep for visits, specimen collection, lab order entry, and assisting with exams and procedures.

Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, with potential OT and a comprehensive benefits package in a business casual environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling patient information.
• Experience using medical office software (Allscripts) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document verbal conversations and information into the patient records in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
• Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider.
• Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
• Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, etc.).
• Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.

Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
• Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
• Experience with Allscripts is a plus!
