Job summary

Evolve Orthopedic Partners in Albany, NY is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to provide administrative and clinical support in a busy orthopedic practice.

You will assist with patient registration, rooming, data collection, and checkout, perform preliminary tests, and support the provider while ensuring HIPAA compliance. This is a full-time role with daytime hours and growth opportunities within a patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Degree in the Sciences preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong data entry skills.
• CPR/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally.
• Assist with patient registration and collecting required information and signatures.
• Prepare patients for exams with preliminary tests as needed.
• Report relevant information to the provider.
• Assist the provider with patient care as requested.
• Perform scribe duties, as needed.
• Review treatment procedures with patients.
• Assist in ordering tests and retrieving results.
• Review discharge instructions.
• Brace measurements under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Collect patient payments and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Balance and close the journal daily.

General Description

This Medical Assistant position provides both administrative and clinical support in patient registration, rooming, demographic and medical data collection as well as patient checkout including appointments, discharge information and payment under the supervision of a provider.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Greeting patients promptly and professionally;
• Assisting patients with the registration process including but not limited to assistance with collecting required patient information, medical history, relevant documents, and electronic signatures;
• Preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests, as needed;
• Reporting relevant information to the provider;
• Assisting the provider with patient care as requested;
• Performing scribe duties, as needed;
• Reviewing treatment procedures with patients;
• Assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results;
• Reviewing discharge instructions;
• Bracing & brace measurements under the supervision of a licensed professional;
• Collecting any patient payments and scheduling follow up appointments, if required;
• Balancing and closing a journal each day, when applicable;
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality and complies with HIPAA standards;
• Other responsibilities as needed
