Job summary

SpringCreek Fertility in Centerville, OH seeks a dedicated medical assistant to support providers during exams, diagnostic tests, and procedures. You will prepare rooms, document vital signs, draw blood, and help with lab results, ensuring patient comfort throughout the fertility journey.

You will work closely with physicians and nursing staff, handle front desk duties as needed, and help schedule testing while adhering to OSHA guidelines and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Experience in women’s health or assisted reproduction is a plus.
• Comfortable with drawing blood and moving quickly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare room for examinations, testing and procedures.
• Prepare and assist with IUI, pap smears, cultures, biopsies, etc.
• Take and document patients’ vital signs.
• Draw blood per physicians’ order.
• Log all laboratory results and manage stock of blood draw stations.
• Assist in maintaining medical records and patient histories.
• Assist physicians during procedures and review lab results.
• Communicate patient care needs with nursing staff/physicians.
• Receive payment for visits and perform front desk duties as needed.

What this role will look like:

If you would have started this week, you might have:

• Witnessed a newly pregnant mom hear her baby’s heart beat for the first time.
• Comforted a patient who lost a long desired pregnancy.
• Offered hope and encouragement while scheduling diagnostic testing.
• Worked alongside dedicated providers to monitor follicle growth for an IUI or IVF.
• Assisted the physician in an oocyte (egg) retrieval.
• Called a patient and coached her through the results of her pregnancy test.

Assist providers

• Prepare room for examinations, testing and procedures
• Prepare and assist with intrauterine inseminations (IUI), pap smears, cultures, biopsies, etc.
• Take and document patients’ vital signs
• Draw blood per physicians’ order
• Log all outgoing and incoming laboratory results
• Set-up and confirm stock of blood draw stations
• Track, confirm and order medical supplies for the offices
• Clean and maintain instruments and equipment per protocol and according to OSHA guidelines
• Retrieve and follow-up on messages for clinical and phlebotomy staff
• Assist in maintaining medical records and patient histories
• Prepare charts for following day appointments
• Assist physicians’ as surgical technician during procedures
• Assist in reviewing charts and obtaining lab results
• Set up trays for following day procedures
• Adhere to Operating Room Sanitation Policy and Procedures, confines and contains waste disposal and prepares instruments for decontamination
• Control the surgical environment according to OSHA policy and procedure
• Assist with providing care for patients during the entire procedure (pre, intra and post)
• Communicate ongoing patient care needs with nursing staff/physicians
• Operate specialty equipment per manufacturer's recommendations and/or policy and procedure
• Responsible for determining that appropriate paperwork has been received for patient treatment
• Review lab results with patients under the direction of a provider
• Help with front desk duties as needed
• Receive payment for visits
• Other duties as seen needed by leadership team
