Job summary

Catholic Health Physician Practices is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and keep the practice running smoothly in a team-oriented setting.

You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, take vitals, assist with procedures, process specimens, and help front-desk duties as needed to ensure efficient patient flow across the day.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
  • BCLS certification required (American Heart Association, in-person).
  • Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
  • Team-first attitude and commitment to respectful, quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
  • Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.).
  • Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
  • Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
  • Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
  • Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
  • Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
  • Help at the front desk when needed — greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
  • Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

Salary Range

USD $27.75 - USD $34.00 /Hr.
