Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a full-time, daytime schedule (Mon-Fri) in Brevard, NC. The role centers on clinical support, ensuring timely patient care and efficient exam flow.

Responsibilities include taking histories and vitals, room preparation, administering injections, phlebotomy, minor surgeries support, and handling referrals and calls. Certification is required and ongoing education is encouraged within the team.

Qualifications

  • One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience.
  • Certification required: RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials.
  • Recently graduated Medical Assistants must obtain certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Candidates with one year of MA experience without certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date.

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays. Seeking a Medical Assistant who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What You Will Do
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
  • Answer telephone calls to the practice and screen referrals.
Qualifications

Experience: One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.

Certification/License: Medical Assistant Certification is required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials. Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain certification within 60 days of employment. Candidates with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess certification must obtain certification within one year of hire date.
