Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support client employees and their dependents at our Berea, KY Health Center. This role involves interviewing patients, taking vital signs, preparing rooms, administering injections, conducting lab tests, performing EKGs, and handling front-desk tasks.

You’ll need CMA/Medical Assistant certification with hands-on externship and current BLS; prior MA experience is preferred. Flexible schedule is offered with benefits.

Qualifications

• National CMA/Medical Assistant certification is required.
• Hands-on externship completed and passed; online-only courses not accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA/ARC or equivalent) required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs.
• Maintain patient health records with up-to-date information.
• Prepare treatment rooms, and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications, perform labs, and operate EKGs as allowed.
• Assist at the front desk, schedule appointments and manage supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Part Time Medical Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Berea, KY.

Schedule

• Part-Time 20 Hours Per Week
• Mon 9:00 am - 5:30 pm; Tue & Thu 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Closed Daily for lunch 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
