Job summary

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Barbourville team. You will support integrated care as part of a patient-centered, multidisciplinary group, handling scheduling, check-ins, vitals, and drug screenings in a real-world clinic setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years MA experience, phlebotomy and CPR certification, and an ability to navigate the electronic health record. Barbourville, KY location, full-time on-site role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Answer incoming calls and check voice messages.
  • Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
  • Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with evaluations.
  • Call in medications as directed by Physician.
  • Input patient information into the electronic health record.
  • Send prior-authorizations to insurers.
  • Manage daily financial summaries and cash collections.
  • Review prescription monitoring databases.
  • Educate patients on medications.

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our awesome team in Barbourville!

This position is for a Medical Assistant who supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team with patients receiving counseling, case management and medically assisted treatment. The Medical Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling patient appointments.
  • Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
  • Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
  • Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
  • Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
  • Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
  • Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
  • Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
  • Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
  • Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
  • Provide education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred

Experience:

  • 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
  • Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
  • Experience with injections preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
