Job summary

Premise Health in Austin, TX is hiring a Part-Time Medical Assistant (MA) for a 24-hour weekly schedule, starting March 2027. You will interview patients, take vital signs, maintain records, and support front desk tasks in our health center.

This role requires CMA or recognized MA certification with hands-on externship, BLS/CPR, and state-registered credentials. We offer competitive pay and a thoughtful benefits package to part-time teammates.

Qualifications

• State lab certificate where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Maintain patient health records and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications, run labs, perform EKGs as allowed.
• Assist front desk, schedule appointments, order supplies.

Job description

As a Part-Time (24 hours per week) Medical Assistant (MA), you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Austin, TX.
This part-time position will be a set weekly schedule of 24 hours per week. Ideally, this will be a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM schedule.
*Position is scheduled to start in March 2027

What You’ll Do

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
• Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
• Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
• Current certification with hands on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
• State Lab Certificate (NV only)
• CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center of Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologists, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (South Carolina only)
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
