Role Description

The Medical Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, TX. The role will primarily be in Leander, but we expect employees to jump around as needed. This role supports providers by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and assisting with allergy and asthma procedures and testing. Daily responsibilities include greeting and rooming patients, documenting encounters in the electronic medical record, managing medical records, and coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals. The Medical Assistant also helps with patient education on treatment plans, medications, and office policies, and assists with administrative tasks such as handling phone calls, refills, and insurance or billing-related information as directed. The position requires consistent collaboration with clinical and front office staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive experience.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Medical Assisting, including supporting clinical procedures and maintaining exam room readiness.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document allergy and asthma-related information.
  • Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, phone etiquette, and coordination of patient visits.
  • Candidates should possess strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive interactions.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in managing Medical Records, including electronic health records (EHR) documentation and data accuracy.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training; certification (e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform clinical tasks safely, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model.
