Job summary

Pmcnv is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinicians in an Allergy & Immunology clinic in Las Vegas. You will document vitals, histories, medications, and allergies, and assist with exams and procedures.

You will administer injections, perform allergy testing, and manage patient education, scheduling, and EMR documentation in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Current CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification required or ability to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams by recording vitals, histories, meds, and allergies.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections and allergy testing within scope of practice.
  • Document in EMR and coordinate referrals and prescriptions.
  • Educate patients on medications and follow-up care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of exam rooms; ensure HIPAA compliance.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by supporting physicians and advanced practice providers with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys building positive relationships with patients while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies.
  • Assist physicians and providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Administer allergy injections and other medications as directed by providers and within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patients following allergy injections and recognize and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
  • Perform allergy skin testing, spirometry, FeNO testing, and other diagnostic procedures as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring appropriate supplies and equipment are stocked and sanitized.
  • Collect, label, and process laboratory specimens when applicable.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, allergy avoidance strategies, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Document clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Coordinate prescription refills, prior authorizations, and specialty pharmacy communications.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.
  • Support inventory management by monitoring medical supplies and notifying leadership when reordering is needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Previous experience in Allergy & Immunology, Pulmonology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
  • Experience administering injections and performing allergy testing.
  • Knowledge of biologic medications, prior authorizations, and specialty pharmacy workflows.
  • Experience with pulmonary function testing (spirometry) and related diagnostic procedures.
