Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking a freelance ASL Medical InPerson Interpreter for on-site work in Belton, MO. You will facilitate Deaf/HOH patient–practitioner conversations in medical settings, with scheduling access via the AMN IPI App.

Minimum NAD level 4 or equivalent cert, HIPAA training within the last year, and state licensure where applicable. Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and adaptability; join a national network of interpreters and help expand access to care.

Qualifications

• National certification NAD level 4 or equivalent.
• Familiarity with NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf culture ethics.
• HIPAA training completed within the last year.
• State licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting for consumers.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and preparedness for shifts.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics and procedural requirements specific to interpreting contexts.
• Respect for LEP clients, culture, dialect, and beliefs in medical procedures.
