Job summary

Men's Health Foundation is seeking a compassionate Medical Collector / Accounts Receivable Representative to manage insurer AR, follow up on denials, and submit appeals. The role requires deep payer knowledge and accurate, timely claim resolution to support equitable patient care.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with payer portals, CMS-1500, ICD-10-CM, and documentation in a fast-paced environment, along with strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of professional/provider-side medical collections and AR experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and other payers.
• Ability to interpret EOBs/ERAs, payer communications, and timely filing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned insurance AR from initial follow-up through final resolution.
• Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, denied claims using payer portals, phone, and written correspondence.
• Prepare and submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and first- and second-level appeals.
• Review denials, documentation, and payer requirements to ensure timely payments.
• Document all activity in the Practice Management system and track follow-ups.
