Job summary

APX Life Sciences in Boston seeks a Senior Director, Medical Affairs to lead medical strategy for a late‑stage neuroscience asset. You will oversee evidence development, launch readiness, and cross‑functional coordination with Commercial, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Regulatory, and Lifecycle Management.

This role reports to senior leadership and shapes medical narratives, publications, and CME activities while guiding independent research and payer considerations for launch success.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required (MD, PhD or PharmD).
• At least 5 years in biopharmaceuticals Medical Affairs with a product launch track record.
• Experience contributing to peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong scientific grounding, adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Act as scientific authority in sleep medicine and neuroscience, tracking therapies and payer dynamics.
• Synthesize clinical, scientific, and real-world data to identify strategic needs and opportunities.
• Direct medical affairs strategy and launch preparation to align with organizational goals.
• Lead cross‑functional medical strategy team and contribute to governance for launch-focused work.
• Oversee publications reviews, investigator-initiated research, medical education grants, and corporate materials.
• Shape independent research priorities and collaborate with Regulatory on phase 3b/4 concepts.
• Collaborate with other medical directors to define education themes and CME grant reviews.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders, researchers, societies, and patient advocacy groups.
• Partner with Health Outcomes and Patient Advocacy teams to inform development and planning.
• Provide medical training and support to internal teams across functions.
• Represent Medical Affairs in discussions with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
