Job summary

APX Life Sciences is partnering with a growing biopharmaceutical organization to appoint a Medical Director, Clinical Development. This leadership role advances therapies for neurology disorders and has strategic impact across the clinical development portfolio.

You will lead protocol design, serve as Global Clinical Lead, author regulatory documents, provide medical monitoring for Phase 2/3, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with investigators and CROs. Travel ~25% and hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• MD with clinical development experience in Neurology or Neuroscience.
• Experience in early and late-stage clinical programs.
• Experience interacting with global regulatory agencies; prior submissions valued.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of presenting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead protocol design and execution for neuropsychiatric trials.
• Act as Global Clinical Lead for programs and guide clinical strategy.
• Author and review clinical and regulatory documents (protocols, CSRs, submissions).
• Provide medical review and monitoring for Phase 2/3 studies with CRO partnership.
• Contribute to strategic discussions on development plans and portfolio direction.
• Mentor junior clinical development colleagues and scientists.
• Represent organization to investigators, partners, and scientific groups.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations to ensure timely, high-quality study execution.

This is a high-visibility position with significant strategic and scientific impact across the clinical development portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead protocol design and execution for clinical trials in neuropsychiatric indications.
• Serve as Global Clinical Lead for one or more programs, guiding clinical strategy and subteam activities.
• Author and review clinical and regulatory documents, including protocols, CSRs, study documents, and submissions.
• Provide medical review and medical monitoring for Phase 2 and Phase 3 studies (in partnership with CRO medical monitors).
• Participate in strategic discussions on clinical development plans, indication prioritization, and portfolio direction.
• Mentor junior clinical development colleagues and clinical scientists as needed.
• Represent the organization to clinical investigators, external partners, and scientific/advocacy groups.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations to ensure timely, high-quality study execution aligned with budget and performance expectations.

Qualifications

• MD with clinical development experience in Neurology or Neurosciences.
• Clinical Development track record within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience.
• Experience across early and late-stage clinical programs.
• Experience interacting with global regulatory agencies; prior involvement in successful submissions is highly valued.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership and external audiences.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and ability to navigate complex, matrixed environments.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%).
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment with regular on-site collaboration.
