Job summary

Banner Health's Internal Medicine Clinic in Phoenix seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations. You will perform indirect care using the EHR, review charts, and help identify care gaps to ensure timely and appropriate services.

A strong team and structured certification path are emphasized. Uncertified MAs will have 12 months to achieve national certification, with Banner funding study materials and certification cost.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• Active MA certification within one year of hire (AMT/CMA/CCMA/NCMA).
• BLS certification required at or before hire.
• Experience with EMR and scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform chart reviews to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Utilize EHR to identify care gaps and communicate with care team.
• Assist with preventative and chronic care strategies using standing orders.
• Collaborate with care team to meet performance metrics and quality measures.
• Provide direct patient care as needed and participate in onboarding/training.
• Engage in clinical education days and ongoing staff development.
