Job summary

Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to support non-clinical and administrative functions within the Primary care team. The contractor will manage scheduling, patient data, and front-desk activities in a collaborative healthcare setting.

The AMSA will work across clinics and units, coordinating with VA and partner facilities to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate record updates.

Qualifications

• Advanced Medical Support Assistant. Individuals for the positions described with this PWS shall have two (2) to three (3) years of experience or have received certification from an accredited institution related to medical administration.
• BLS through American Heart Association
• Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Certified Education Unit (CEU) Requirements: Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the facility.
• US Citizen

Responsibilities

• Perform receptionist duties, manage appointment schedules for clinics, and handle office tasks.
• Manage administrative nonclinical tasks for the primary care team, including scheduling and tracking.
• Provide patient-facing support and facilitate actions from inception to closure.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver care.
• Interface with VA and non-VA providers and facilities as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and correct identification procedures.
• Ensure accurate scheduling and updates in the computerized patient record.
