Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to guide advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies, driving strategy, governance, and performance improvements. You will work closely with internal delivery, BD, sales, and capture teams to shape and deliver consulting engagements and respond to Medicaid procurements.

The role requires current Medicaid Consulting experience as a project leader, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and maintain strong client

Qualifications

• 7+ years in senior roles for state Medicaid programs or consulting to them.
• Demonstrated experience leading or advising Medicaid consulting engagements.
• Proven ability to engage with senior Medicaid executives and agency leadership.
• Understanding of federal and state Medicaid laws and financing.
• Experience supporting Medicaid procurements.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements from initial advisory discussions through scoping, execution, and delivery.
• Develop workplans, governance structures, and deliverables aligned to client needs.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality and client satisfaction.
• Recruit team members to support Medicaid consulting opportunities.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on go-to-market strategies.
• Support business development, including proposal reviews and executive presentations.
