Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to lead advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies. You will guide strategy, shape client outcomes, and act as a trusted advisor to clients, with accountability for turning discussions into actionable engagements.

In this role you will collaborate with delivery, BD, sales, and capture teams, provide senior leadership oversight, and drive responses to Medicaid procurements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 7+ years of experience required, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in senior-level roles for state Medicaid programs or consulting.
• Proven ability to engage credibly with senior Medicaid executives.
• Solid understanding of federal/state law governing Medicaid and financing.
• Experience supporting or leading responses to Medicaid procurements.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements from scoping through delivery and outcomes.
• Develop workplans, governance structures, and client-focused deliverables.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality and manage risk.
• Recruit team members to support Medicaid opportunities.
• Partner with BD, sales, and capture to shape win strategies and messaging.
• Participate in proposal reviews and executive briefings.
