Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead Consultant - Medicaid to guide advisory engagements with state and local Medicaid agencies, acting as a trusted advisor to shape client strategy. The role leads discussions that convert into consulting engagements and collaborates with internal delivery, BD, sales, and capture teams.

The position requires current Medicaid consulting experience as a project leader and involves policy analysis, program design and reform, financial reviews, and operational transformation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field; 7+ years in state Medicaid/public sector.
• 7+ years in senior‑level positions for state Medicaid programs or consulting.
• Experience engaging with senior Medicaid executives and agency leadership.
• Understanding of federal and state Medicaid law and financing.
• Experience leading responses to Medicaid procurements.
• Strong executive communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements from advisory discussions through scoping, execution, and delivery.
• Develop workplans, governance structures, and objective deliverables aligned to client needs.
• Provide senior oversight to ensure delivery quality, manage risk, and maintain high client satisfaction.
• Identify, recruit, and oversee consulting team members to support engagements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on go‑to‑market strategies and advisory offerings.
• Support business development efforts, including proposal development and executive presentations.
