Job summary

Agawam Rehab & Nursing Campus is seeking an experienced Medicaid Specialist to support our four skilled nursing locations. This is a full-time temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent for an organized professional with experience in Medicaid processing, billing, and insurance coordination.

Salary is $65,000-$75,000 per year. You will review Medicaid applications, interview applicants and families, document findings, manage billing, aging reports, and ensure records comply

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Medicaid processing experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Medicaid applications and verify financial and personal information.
• Interview applicants and family members as needed.
• Document findings and assist with Medicaid approvals and denials.
• Manage private billing and collection of outstanding balances.
• Oversee monthly aging reports.
• Execute admission agreements with residents.
• Coordinate insurance authorizations and appeals.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with federal and state regulations.
