Center on Budget and Policy Priorities seeks a Senior Director with substantial Medicaid expertise to lead federal Medicaid strategy and policy development. The role shapes CBPP’s state-level agenda and coordinates with policymakers, advocates, and partners to advance health coverage and equity.

The position oversees staff within the health policy division, reports to the Vice President for Health Policy, and operates in a hybrid Washington, D.C. setting with in-office days.

Qualificações

• The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in Medicaid and health policy issues for people with low incomes and a track record of affecting health policy outcomes.
• At least ten years of relevant policy or advocacy experience on Medicaid.
• Minimum of three years of staff or team management experience.
• Ability to build relationships with policymakers, government officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication of CBPP policies to policymakers and media.
• Experience in program implementation at federal or state levels.
• Commitment to health equity and racial justice in CBPP’s health policy work.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a nationally recognized, trusted resource on Medicaid policy and provide technical assistance to internal and external audiences.
• Direct CBPP’s strategy and policy development on Medicaid, in consultation with the Government Affairs team.
• Manage a senior policy analyst and mentor other staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, health advocates, and equity-focused organizations.
• Analyze and influence Medicaid policy and financing proposals, including state waivers and legislative proposals.
• Craft policies to improve health coverage and expand access for low-income enrollees.
• Advance health equity and center the voices of those with lived experience of discrimination and poverty.
• Collaborate with other CBPP staff across departments.
• Perform other duties to support team goals.
