Job summary

For People seeks a Medicaid Policy and Program Strategist to own engagement with federal and state Medicaid programs, shape insights, and support improvements in government digital services.

You will translate complex policy and technical concepts for diverse partners, collaborate across policy, product, and engineering, and build scalable workflows to advance Medicaid initiatives. This 6-month contract is 100% remote across the United States.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of working in or with Medicaid programs at the state or federal level.
• Ability to build efficient, scalable workflows from messy processes.
• Collaborative, diplomatic, and comfortable navigating complex stakeholder dynamics.
• Excellent writing and speaking abilities with warmth, clarity

Responsibilities

• Act as a translator between technical teams, policy experts, state administrators, and federal stakeholders, turning dense concepts into accessible guidance.
• Collaborate across policy, product, and engineering to align regulatory goals with delivery realities.
• Manage and oversee our state Medicaid partner support channels.
• Identify opportunities for process or product improvements to federal programs supporting Medicaid data tools.
• Build and templatize how we interact with Medicaid partners to ensure consistency and clarity.
• Identify operational trends and know when to escalate concerns to leadership or internal partners.
• Coordinate closely with federal partners to keep cross-agency efforts aligned.
• Advocate for Medicaid program needs by translating insights back to product and engineering teams.
