Agawam Rehab & Nursing Campus in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Medicaid Specialist to support four skilled nursing locations. This is a full-time temporary role with potential to become permanent, focusing on Medicaid processing, billing, and insurance coordination.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications, interviews, denials/approvals, and maintaining records in line with federal and state regulations; position includes private billing tasks and monthly aging reports.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Medicaid processing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Medicaid applications and verify financial and personal information
• Interview applicants and family members as needed
• Document findings and assist with Medicaid approvals and denials
• Manage private billing and collection of outstanding balances
• Oversee monthly aging reports
• Execute admission agreements with residents
• Coordinate insurance authorizations and appeals
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with federal and state regulations
