Job summary

City of New York seeks a Supervisor III (SS) for the Medicaid Fair Hearing Unit. The role oversees Fair Hearing Representatives, coordinates hearings, and ensures compliance with NYS Social Services Laws, Rules, and Regulations. Proactive training, reporting, and liaison duties are included.

Under the Director, you will develop processes, monitor proceedings, and implement new policies to improve efficiency and outcomes in fair hearings for MAP and HCSP programs.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and three years of full-time satisfactory experience in social casework, at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the Fair Hearing Representatives in the preparation of the Fair Hearing process.
• Develop Fair Hearing schedules and assign cases to subordinate staff.
• Ensure MAP and HCSP actions are determined in accordance with NYS laws and regulations.
• Administer training sessions on Fair Hearing operations and policies.
• Maintain administrative controls and track cases in the Fair Hearing Tracking System.
• Prepare reports on unit operations and advocate improvements.
• Liaise with site administrators, NYS DSS, clients, and advocacy organizations.
• Provide technical assistance in program planning and development of the Fair Hearing Division.
• Conduct special studies and consult with staff to resolve processing issues.
• Assist the Director in planning and implementing new procedures and forms.
