Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services is seeking an Associate Benefits Opportunity Specialist III to lead the Central Packet Review Unit (CPRU) in preparing evidence packages for Fair Hearings. The role reports to the Fair Hearing Administration and directs staff across multiple centers to ensure accurate documentation and timely submissions.

You will supervise operations, monitor performance, and liaise with FH Representation to maintain high-quality FH outcomes.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Knowledge of NYS social service policy and procedures.
• Understanding of agency operations and FH processes.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; plus 18 months of related experience if required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CPRU/Part staff responsible for preparing documentation for evidence packages.
• Ensure timely and accurate packet preparation for pre-scheduling and FH hearings.
• Monitor and adjust workloads; coordinate with FH Representation when needed.
• Train staff and ensure compliance with agency regulations and standards.
• Participate in meetings to discuss FH trends and outcomes.
