Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II, Team Lead (MAGI) in Richland County to lead front-line beneficiary access to Medicaid. This in-office role requires strong eligibility judgment and teamwork.

You will collect documentation, evaluate eligibility, and serve as a subject matter expert, with responsibilities including mentoring teammates and ensuring timely determinations in accordance with EPSM policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• Ability to adapt to policy and program requirements and privacy standards.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with computers, MS Office, and web-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect and evaluate information from applicants to determine MAGI eligibility.
• Complete eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as subject matter expert and first-tier escalation for team.
• Document all notes and steps clearly for hand-offs and reviews.
• Maintain professional communication with beneficiaries and co-workers.
