Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Program Coordinator I (EEMS Respondent Coordinator, MAGI) in Eligibility Appeals & Quality, Richland County. This in-office role will cross-train to handle Specialty appeals and represent the agency in hearings and appeals processes.

Travel statewide to hearings is required, with duties including reviewing records and issuing timely responses. The position requires a high school diploma and relevant program experience, with preferred knowledge of Medicaid

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• Knowledge of SCDHHS Medicaid Eligibility Policies and Procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with MAGI eligibility and the SCDHHS appeal process; CURAM/OnBase/MMIS/CGIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze case information to determine accuracy of eligibility decisions.
• Review case findings and ensure receipt of Fair Hearing requests.
• Prepare and send Appeals Packets per policy.
• Represent the Department at hearings and travel statewide as required.
• Follow Medicaid policies and timeliness procedures for appeals responses.
• Collaborate with Eligibility Policy/Quality teams to determine relevancy of information.
• Perform other duties as assigned across the agency.
