Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II (MAGI) to determine Medicaid eligibility and process ongoing reviews. You will gather information from applicants and third parties, evaluate it against policy, and document decisions with clear notes for hand-offs to colleagues.

The role requires attention to accuracy, privacy, and timely processing. The position is in-office, with optional overtime and weekend work subject to Deputy approval, and offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma and relevant program experience in customer services, social services, human services, and/or Medicaid processing.
• Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, assemble, evaluate, and act on information from applicants and third parties to determine eligibility.
• Make timely eligibility determinations, reviews, and changes of circumstance.
• Document notes clearly for review and hand-off to other specialists; follow escalation processes as needed.
• Maintain professional communication and confidentiality per policy and training.
