Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years Medicaid background; billing background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or other programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by billing supervisor or director.
• Interacts with patients and staff to facilitate patient flow and resolve issues.
• Performs general office duties including filing, answering calls, and typing letters.
• Assesses language needs and provides interpreter assistance as needed.
• Contacts patients with incomplete applications to obtain required information.
• Completes simplified/community applications and follows up on all applications.
• Sets appointments for documentation submission.
• Authorized to approve prescriptions for patients with pending Medicaid or lost IDs.
