Rehab Healthcare Center in Nassau County, NY is seeking a knowledgeable Medicaid Coordinator to join our team in Massapequa, NY. The role focuses on managing Medicaid applications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting residents and families through the financial eligibility process.

You will oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications, assist with documentation, track statuses, and ensure timely submissions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• At least 1 year Medicaid applications experience.
• Medicaid Portal experience preferred.
• MEDS system experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures and Medicaid/Medicare rules.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.
• Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.
• Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.
• Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.
• Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.
• Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.
• Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.
• Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.
