Position: Medicaid Coordinator

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Medicaid Coordinator to join our team in Massapequa, NY. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing Medicaid applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and assisting residents and families through the financial eligibility process.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.
- Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.
- Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.
- Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.
- Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.
- Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.
- Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.
- Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- At least 1 year of direct experience with Medicaid applications and re-certifications.
- Medicaid Portal experience preferred.
- MEDS system experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and managed care guidelines.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
